For the extraordinary position in the heart of the Natural Park of  Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli there are various possibilities departing from the St. Michael campingsite to discover these marvellous places of Tuscany.

Tirrenia , famous sea resort lying in the comune of Pisa. In the north lies the sea resort of Marina di Pisa, extending in between the mouth of the Arno river and the pinewood of Tombolo. It is an integral part of the Natural Park .

Calci (30km), an agricultural center situated in the lovely Valgraziosa, lying around the parish church of the 11th century. Not very far away from the village lies the Carthusian monastery of Pisa; the complex goes back to the 14th century, but was reconstructed in the 18th century and consists of the monastery, guest quarters, the church and the cloister.

Livorno, Sanctuary of Montenero (24 km, the last part with the funicular railway): situated at a height of 193 meters it is an important religious building dedicated to the patron saint of Tuscany, built in the 14th century but reconstructed only in 1575 and 1721.

For lovers of the wine. In the range of only a few kilometers you can find small villages hidden in the beautyful landscape such as San Miniato, Palaia, La Rotta, Peccioli, Laiatico, Terricciola, Lari, Crespina, Fauglia, Lorenzana, Casciana Terme and Chianni, being part of the wine road of the Pisan hills.

Also with little more than a hour drive you can reach Florence and Siena.
